Okay so you have decided to apply for another job? The first thing you need to do is make a resume that will stand out. The next thing is you need a resume cover letter. A resume cover letter is very important as it states your interest in the job. A resume and cover letter will give the employer their first impression of you.

When you send a resume cover letter along with your resume make sure you don’t repeat information. A cover letter should compliment your resume but not overshadow it. Usually in the first paragraph you state the position you are applying for. This brings the attention to the employer of what position you would like.

In the following paragraphs of the resume cover letter you state your reason for applying, refer the employer to your resume and in closing show you would like an interview. This way the cover letter will show your intent before your employer has read your resume. It is in your best interest to send a cover letter with your resume because it is the start of your first introduction to the employer.
